Grand Rapids born and raised, Morgan received a Catechetics and Theology degree from Franciscan University of Steubenville before pursuing her passion and starting a theatre arts program at a local high school. After teaching and directing for 6 years, she moved to the Law and worked as a paralegal for an additional 7 years. It was the birth of her first child that prompted her to consider a career as a doula. She received her initial doula training from Childbirth International and is now thrilled to be completing her apprenticeship with ABDS. She is so excited to be able to walk alongside moms and families during the beautiful and empowering experience that is birth. She loves everything music and theatre, and loves rainy days so she can curl up with a good book (when both babies are asleep, of course). She spent the last year exploring her husband’s homeland of South Africa, and is now excited to be starting her doula practice here in West Michigan.
"We were blessed to have Morgan walk alongside us during our first pregnancy. She exudes strength and peacefulness in her care. Her experience as a mother of two and knowledge as a doula helped ease our minds during every stage of pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum. Our first labor was a long one - over 60 hours! Morgan was there for us through it all. She encouraged us with prayer and comforted us with her firm handling of each contraction. Ultimately, we needed to deviate from our initial birth plan, and we felt confident doing so with Morgan’s guidance. She celebrated our daughter’s birth with true joy in her eyes. Her care of our family has continued into the postpartum weeks with delicious meals and reassuring words mom to mom. After this experience, we regard Morgan as family and look forward to having her join us as our doula for all future children. We hope you will invite Morgan into your pregnancy and postpartum journey. Her joyful strength and firm care will be a blessing to your birth team." ~Michelle and Kris
"Having Morgan was extraordinarily helpful for me. I was so thankful she checked in on me and I had someone to whom I could ask questions, get advice, and just get solidarity. I was also extremely grateful because she helped me so much in my labor! Whether it was praying for me, encouraging me, or holding back pressure, she was right there the entire time. Morgan checked in on me during pregnancy and postpartum, and made sure I had the support I needed. I felt so seen and cared for! I truly do not think I could’ve had a VBAC at home without my amazing birth team. Morgan prayed for me, squeezed my hand, cheered me on while I pushed FOR FIVE HOURS, and even helped get my toddler up when he woke up shortly after the birth. She worked hard for me while I was doing my hard work, so I could focus on labor and not need to worry about anything else."
We'd love to accompany you on your journey through pregnancy and birth!
